Night Journey - Band Arrangement

Night Journey vividly describes a nocturnal cross country train ride and the views and impressions of the evocative and darkened landscape. The stark imagery and introspective tone are startlingly reflected through the creative and colorful sounds infused with blues and other jazz references, as well as allusions to the power and movement of the machinery of the locomotive. The visual images brought to mind evoke scenes of a train station at night with the passengers boarding, followed by the whistle blowing as the train slowly pulls away, gaining momentum before hurtling relentlessly through the dark and expansive scenery.
