Hummingbird - Solo Marimba

Hummingbird is an intermediate four-mallet solo for marimba by Portland artist Michael Charles Smith. It is propelled by a constant 6/8 rhythm that runs throughout the piece. It also features a slow, reflective section where the marimbist is required to play chords like a bouncing ball, repeating them with greater speed as they diminuendo. This is playful piece helps fill the gap between beginning and advanced works in the solo marimba repertoire. This piece ships in a printed, professionally bound folio with a full color cover.
