Infeld Red & Blue Each string in these new sets has a different scheme of production. Many violinists have resorted to using a mix of brands and tensions in order to find the best performance for their instrument. With Infeld strings, this may no longer be necessary. The Blue set is more brilliant, and the Red set is Warmer in tone. Full size only.
Suitable for old and new instruments.
Relatively insensitive to excess humidity.
Strings settle in quickly, stabilising early on in the string's life for concert use.
Low overall tension on the instrument produces an open, transparent sound.
Very responsive to different playing techniques, lending itself to various interpretative approaches.
Large and full sound, making the string sets suitable for soloists and chamber music players.
Good purity of open fifths, even when strings are older.

These strings will make almost any Violin sound better then steel core strings. When first installed, they sound a bit metallic and tend to stretch, but after a day or two they settle in nicely. Never install the day of a performance! They have a soft feel under the left hand and respond nicely. If you play/practice one or more hours a day I would recommend replacing every six months, the loss brilliance is gradual so you don’t realize it until you compare it to a new set. I would recommend replacing the “E" String with a Pirastro Gold Label #3151.
I install Dominants strings on all of our professional Violins. They ore not the perfect string for every Violin but they are, in my opinion, the best starting point.
